Frequently asked questions

Perhaps you are still wondering about something...

A first appointment can feel daunting. That is why you will find answers below to the questions I am asked most often.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can make an appointment without a referral.

How does a first appointment go?

During the intake we take our time to get to know each other and to discuss your question. Together we explore what is on your mind and which form of support fits best.

Do I have to choose between haptotherapy, psychosocial support or nutritional support?

No, you do not. During the first appointment we look together at which form of support suits you best at that moment. The method is not what matters most; what you need is.

Do I have to take off my clothes during a haptotherapy session?

No. You keep your clothes on during the session. Touch is always agreed beforehand and happens only when it feels comfortable. You set your own boundaries throughout.

Do you also offer online sessions?

Yes. Depending on what you need, support is also possible online. Together we look at what suits best.

Are the sessions reimbursed by health insurance?

The sessions are invoiced privately. Haptotherapy is not reimbursed under the Dutch basic health insurance; I am in the process of joining CAT, so that (partial) reimbursement through your supplementary insurance becomes possible. For dietetics I am affiliated with the DCN (Diëtisten Coöperatie Nederland). Reimbursement is never guaranteed. Please check with your own health insurer beforehand which reimbursement applies to you.

What if I have to cancel an appointment?

You can reschedule or cancel an appointment free of charge up to 36 hours in advance. In case of a later cancellation, the reserved time is charged.

I do not know exactly what I want to work on. Is an appointment still worthwhile?

That is all the more reason to come. You do not have to have everything clear before you make an appointment. During the first appointment we explore together what is going on and what you need at this moment.
